The history of sailing on the Lake of Garda goes back hundreds of years. It is a virtual paradise for sailors. In the past 50 years it has become well noted as a sports center for all types of sailing activities. Several regattas are held on Lake Garda including the internationally famous Hundred Mile Regatta held annually every September.
The varying winds of the Lake can range from gentle breezes to brisk winds offering both the sailing and the wind surfing enthusiast some of the most ideal conditions on the European mainland.

The favorable climate of Lake Garda and its territory offers ideal conditions for those who have a passion for golfing. You can enjoy this sport all year round at the numerous golf courses spread throughout the rolling hills of Garda.

The crystal clear waters of the Lake allow the diver to view and photograph its fascinating underwater landscapes. In some areas the Lake is extremely deep. History has left its mark and interesting relics can be found buried in the blue waters of the Lake.
Biking
The Garda area is ideal for the sport cyclist offering both the Mountain Biker and the Racing Biker routes that are appealing and well worth doing. You can practice this sport in the entire Garda region. Maps, specifying routes, are available for all areas.
Equitation
Horseback riding is becoming an ever more popular sport in the Garda region, giving to those who take pleasure in this wonderful activity the possibility to enjoy the feelings of freedom as they roam through the landscapes of Garda in close contact with nature.
Hiking and Mountain Walking
The Garda territory and the mountains surrounding the Lake provide an unending network of hiking possibilities while enjoying the scenic landscapes and the fresh air and freedom. Monte Baldo defined as the ‘Garden of Europe’, the huge Alto Garda Natural Park with it’s unlimited hiking paths and the mountains of Pizzoccolo and Denervo are only a few of the more notable walking excursions. The Garda territory is often referred to as a walker’s wonderland.

The structure of the mountains on the Lake gives experienced rock climbers the challenging possibility to exercise their skills as well as to provide the novice with the opportunity to sharpen his skills. From Manerba to Garda, from Toscolano to Gargnano and from Torbole to Nago there is a wide choice of climbing routes ranging from easy to difficult.
